Howdy:

I am just getting started on this message board!

I have a trip planned for NZ in March. My plan is to visit a few Clubs while I am in the neighborhood.

My wife and I will travel in the N Island. Coming into Aukland, fishing in the Taupo and Hawkes Bay area and flying out of Wellington. It should be a fun
trip.

Does anyone have any suggestions concerning trout fishing opportunites.

Thanks,

Being an NFL owner (of the Green Bay Packers), I know that guard Darren Colledge is from North Pole, where Santa's House is located. I also know
from past experience that landlocked salmon and rainbow trout can be caught the lazy man's way and taste good.
This trip I was disappointed because the weather was 15 degrees colder than my trips in prior years, plus there was a west wind making it difficult to

Trout first, salmon later if you prefer on my Cooper Landing experience a couple hours south of Anchorage in the Upper Kenai.
August 20 dawned bright and sunny, sort of. I was somewhat distressed that Alaska Rivers Company didn't take off until 9 a.m., but this morning I
found out why. White clouds hung below the adjacent mountainsides until 10:30 or so and I was very thankful I took my insulated raincoat as it was 37

On August 20-1 I will be fishing at Coopers Landing, hopefully landing my first red sockeye salmon. Saw some on inland streams in 2003 hundreds of miles
from the saltwater. Silvers are great, because the coho is extremely fast.
I had to give up the halibut idea because an ice fishing fall moved my spine forward. One of our locals told me about fighting one 20 years ago near

the approximate 10 acre pond. In the water, I caught a big bluegill and eight largemouth, all of them jumpers. The black and silver Rapala Skitter Pop
worked best. Two were caught when they hit the lure before it was ever moved.

Bass is as much a generic term for fish as it is a species. There are more types of bass than one can readily count - both freshwater and saltwater.

To most modern fishermen bass means the largemouth species that has spawned tournament fever across the United States sending grown men, and a few ladies in
