Before you may post or reply to messages on our forum you must first "join" this forum. If you have not yet joined there will be a box at the top of
your screen that says "Sign Up."
Click the "Sign Up" box and fill-out the form that follows.
HERE ARE SOME TIPS TO CONSIDER:
1) The first screen you encounter will ask you for your name, birth date, gender, email address, etc.
YOUR FIRST NAME: For security reasons, you may wish to use your first initial only. Or, you can use "Rtn" (the abbreviation for Rotarian) or "Rotarian" in place of your first name. Later, you may edit your profile and change this if you wish.
YOUR LAST NAME: Please use your real last name.
PASSWORD: Choose (and confirm) a password that you will remember. You will need to use this password each time you return to our forum.
EMAIL ADDRESS: A confirmation of membership will be sent to the email address you enter. Be sure to get it correct as you must respond to the email to activate your membership. If you don't receive a confirmation email, check your "Spam File" if you have one. Your email address is NEVER available to anyone to see.
BIRTH DATE: Enter your birth date. Later you may edit your profile and make your age available only to yourself ... if you are concerned about such things.
GENDER: Choose Male or Female. Again, when you edit your profile you may hide this from public view if you wish.
SECRET QUESTION: Select a Secret Question and Answer. This is required should you ever forget your Password.
HUMAN CONFIRMATION: You will view an "image" containing 4 or 5 letters and you will be asked to type that image into a box below it. If you are having trouble reading the letters, click directly below the image for other options.
The final step on this page is to click the box that says: "I agree! Now Sign Me Up"
2) In the screen that follows you will choose your Profile Name:
PROFILE NAME (a/k/a Screen Name or User Name) : This is the name that identifies you whenever you post a message. It will be seen by anyone who views our forum. You CAN NOT change your Profile Name later.
Use any name you wish. It may consist of all letters or a combination of letters and numbers. It may be humorous if you choose. Since this forum is a part of a much larger community some "common" screen names may already be taken. You may wish to precede, or end your screen name with "Rtn," (i.e. such as RtnJohn, RtnSmith or FishingRtn). This will increase the likelihood that the profile name you want will be available. After choosing a name, click "Available?" If the name you selected has already been taken, you will be given the option to select another.
AVATAR: You may skip this feature for now and add an Avatar when you edit your profile.
Now click: FINISH
